Seven Dimensions of Locally Led Development

The ‘Seven Dimensions Framework’ was developed by Global Mentoring Initative to highlight the most important aspects in the collaboration between international relief agencies and national/local crisis responders

In 2017 and 2018, Global Mentoring Initative (GMI) developed and tested a ‘Seven Dimensions Framework’ that highlights the most important aspects in the collaboration between international relief agencies and national/local crisis responders - from the perspective of the latter. In its original form, or with some slight modifications, it has been used by individual organisations to determine how they are doing now, but also to assess more collective responses to a particular crisis.

At our 2022 Conference ‘Locally Led Development: Exploring next steps’ , (12 May 2022) Smruit Patel, Founder and Co-Director of GMI used this framework to expertly faciliate interactive and engaging conversations to identify priority areas on locally led development for Dóchas members to engage in going forward.
