Mainstreaming Disability into Development and Humanitarian Practice in the Irish INGO Sector

25 Wed, Nov 12:00 PM to 25 Wed, Nov 01:30 PM

Earlier this year, the Dóchas Disability in International Development Working Group commissioned research to explore “Mainstreaming Disability into Development and Humanitarian Practice in the Irish INGO Sector.” Research included in-depth interviews with key informants from nine mainstream INGOs and two disability focused INGOs, as well as with Irish Aid.

The results of this research have been compiled into a report to be launched via webinar on Wednesday 25 November 12:00am to 1.30pm.

Suzanne Keatinge, CEO of Dóchas will host.

Speakers include:

  • Charlotte Thumser, UCD, who led the research will present the research.

  • Michelle Winthrop, Policy Director, Irish Aid will bring Irish Aid’s viewpoint on mainstreaming disability, and share her reflections on the findings of the report.

  • Two Irish INGOs will present their own work towards mainstreaming disability and their reflections on the findings.

We would encourage Dóchas members including programme, human resources and leadership colleagues to participate in this seminar.

Register here by 5pm on Tuesday, 24 November.
