Dóchas launches Climate Finance report

Report into Climate Finance is released ahead of COP30 in Brazil

29 Oct 2025

In the lead up to COP 30, Dóchas is launching its report “Climate Finance and Ireland”.

At a time of devastating climate-related disasters, drought, violent storms and wildfires, Ireland’s solidarity with, and support to, climate vulnerable countries in the Global South is needed now more than ever.

The report argues that Ireland should increase its overall international climate finance contributions to meet its long overdue fair share of the existing global target, to at least €500 million per year in the short term.

It says Ireland should make a separate and specific commitment to financing the Loss and Damage Fund consistent with its fair share of the global effort needed - and develop a pathway to providing at least €1.5 billion annually from 2030.
