Dóchas responds to Gaza ceasefire deal

Dóchas cautiously welcomes the news that Israel and Hamas have agreed the first part of a ceasefire and hostage deal, and calls for unhindered, unrestricted access to Gaza to help those so desperately in need.

CEO Jane-Ann McKenna said: 

What is needed, above all else, is full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and immediate and unimpeded humanitarian access to those desperately in need of support, at scale and in line with humanitarian principles. People are still dying, children are still starving.

This has the potential to be a pivotal moment but only if there is  a full cessation of all hostilities and a complete lifting of the blockade.
