Global Vaccine Equity Briefing with The People's Vaccine Alliance Ireland

Dóchas was delighted to host a briefing on Global Vaccine Equity with representatives from the People’s Vaccine Alliance Ireland on the 2nd February. The briefing covered the current situation with vaccine equity globally, current calls to action of the EU and Ireland, and included a Q&A session with speakers.
Speakers include Michael McCarthy Flynn, Head of Policy and Advocacy at Oxfam Ireland and lead convener of the People’s Vaccine Alliance Ireland. Michael has over 20 years’ experience in policy, advocacy and community development work in Ireland, Canada and ESwatini and holds a Masters in Public Policy and a Masters in Community Development, and Isabel Simpson who has a professional background in nursing and over 25 years in humanitarian work. Isabel has worked in Bosnia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Somaliland, Iraq, North East India. As Executive Director of MSF Ireland, Isabel also works on raising awareness and advocating for the concerns of MSF’s Access campaign; highlighting issues relating to equitable access to medicines across the world.
