(1) Children's Rights Alliance: End Child Poverty Week - 12 September
This week-long initiative spotlights the drivers of child poverty, the best practice solutions at national and local level that address the impact of child poverty and, the key investments Government can make in Budget 2026 to break the cycle of child poverty. Day 5 of End Child Poverty Week will focus on the theme of Income and the need for targeted income supports for children and young people in Budget 2026 to break the cycle of poverty. We are delighted to announce Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary T.D, will deliver a special address at the event. We will also have a keynote address from UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, Olivier de Schutter, followed by a panel discussion with insights from members and key stakeholders about the impact inadequate income supports have on children and families across the country. (2) CONCORD: Let's talk Equality - Disability and sustainable development: become champions of disability inclusion - 18 September

(3) Irish Forum for International Agricultural Development: Voluntary Carbon Markets Webinar - 22 September

(6) Outreach and Emergency Preparedness Officer - 14 September
This role is responsible for building capacity among staff, volunteers, and community partners, developing impactful projects in collaboration with fundraising teams, and supporting emergency response coordination. The postholder will also provide targeted support to branch teams, administer flood scheme operations, and assist in the implementation of preparedness and evaluation processes, contributing to the Irish Red Cross’s mission of resilient, community-driven humanitarian action. The ongoing regular work additionally involves engaging and supporting volunteers with broadening and deepening the quality of their volunteer experience as well as with their compliance-related engagements with head office. (7) Migration Services Caseworker – IRPP Resettlement Programme - 15 September
Casework roles for the Irish Red Cross encompasses a variety of services including, but not limited to, the IRPP mandated Resettlement Programme, the Ukraine Pledge Accommodation programme and the Gaza Minors Medical Initiative. This casework position is specifically for the IRPP Resettlement Programme supporting Programme Refugees. The Irish Red Cross is tasked under its mandate as auxiliary to the Irish Government to co-ordinate offers of support from the Irish Public, to support the placement of refugees into suitable accommodation and to support the social integration of refugees at community level. (8) Plan International Ireland: Desk Officer – Irish Aid Unit - 14 September
Plan International Ireland is looking for a Desk Officer to join the Irish Aid Unit, with a focus on managing the humanitarian funding streams within our Irish Aid ICSP programme. The role involves close coordination with Plan Country Offices to ensure effective grant implementation and strong donor compliance. The Desk Officer will also contribute to funding proposals and support strategic country-level planning. Fluency in French is essential to effectively support our work in French-speaking countries. (9) TASC: Climate Researcher - 17 September
TASC is looking to hire a researcher to increase the capacity of TASC as we advance our work in Climate Justice. The researcher will focus primarily on Climate Justice initiatives but may be asked to support TASC’s other streams. This unique role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work on both local and multilateral Climate Justice initiatives across the island. If you care about people and their rights, understand the gravity of the catastrophe we face in terms of climate breakdown and wish to work on solutions that address inequality, empower people and accelerate climate action, this might be the right opportunity for you. (10) Irish Refugee Council: Children's Caseworkers - 25 September
The Children’s Caseworker will support children seeking international protection, who arrived to Ireland unaccompanied and are being cared for by the Child and Family Agency (Tusla), in the international protection process. The project will take a child- centred and trauma-informed approach. The project will inform children of their rights and obligations in a child-friendly manner, with a main purpose to assist in the process of applying for international protection with and on behalf of the child. (1) NYCI: NUI Certificate Course in Global Youth Work and Development Education - 22 September
Are you concerned about some of the big issues of our time such as climate change, global conflict, migration, poverty, racism, hunger, and right-wing extremism? (2) STAND: Registrations are now open for the STAND Global Issues Courses - 6 October
STAND’s Global Issues Courses are six-week certified programmes designed for third-level students and recent graduates who want to deepen their understanding of social justice and sustainability. Starting this October, each course runs through a series of evening workshops with expert facilitators, tackling urgent questions on economics, the environment, racism, democracy, and how we can imagine fairer futures together. What’s new this year is a hybrid format: one course open online to students nationwide, and two campus-based series at TU Dublin and UCD, with a mix of online and in-person sessions. (3) United Edge: Justice Based Approach Foundation Course - 2 October
Open to staff at any level, our flagship course radically rethinks aid, challenges power dynamics, nurtures leadership, and equips participants to create lasting systemic change. (1) ECO-UNESCO: Registrations Now Open for the 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards - 7 November
ECO-UNESCO is calling on schools, youth groups, families, and community organisations across Ireland to register for the 27th annual Young Environmentalist Awards (YEA). Open to young people aged 10–18 working in groups of two or more, the free programme supports participants to create and lead environmental action projects in categories such as Biodiversity, Waste, and ECO-Health & Wellbeing. Teachers and youth leaders receive free resources and mentoring from the YEA team, and finalists present their work at national showcase events. Find out more here.
(2) Comhlámh: Open letter on the Hague Group - 10 September
Comhlámh and Afri invite civil society organisations to join their appeal calling on the Irish Government to formally join the Hague Group, a coalition of nations pledged to uphold international law. Organisations are asked to add their name to the Civil Society Open letter by 10 September. Find out more here.
(3) DSAI: Call for Panels, Papers, Posters - 30 September
We invite proposals for panels and abstract/paper and poster submission for Development Studies Association (DSA Ireland) annual conference, ‘Development in the Interregnum: Past, Present, and Future(s)’ at Trinity College Dublin on 15th & 16th January 2026. Submission deadline is 30th September 2025. We welcome participation from scholars across disciplines including development studies, international and global studies, geography, political science, sociology, anthropology, and other cognate social sciences. Also welcome are activist and practitioner led research contributions and transdisciplinary research collaborative outputs. Please refer to guidelines here.
(4) Carmichael: Carmichael closing applications for the Good Governance Awards 2025 - 11 September
Any nonprofit organisation in Ireland, whether a charity, company, sports club or community association, can enter its annual report and financial statements into the Awards for free and it will receive individual feedback to help improve future annual reports. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on November 19th. Nonprofits with an annual income of less than €100,000 win 1 free place on a training course of their choice for entering the awards and win 2 additional training places if they are shortlisted to win. (5) NYCI: Applications Open Young People's Committee Applications 2025-2026 - 7 October
The YOUTH2030 Young People’s Committee 2025-2026 is an exciting opportunity for young people (aged 16-25) to connect across Ireland with a focus on engaging in global justice topics. This is achieved in a supportive environment by exploring an aspect of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and finding the ways in which your work locally with issues connects to events and happenings globally. For 2025/26, we will be inviting the YPC to get focus on Youth, Peace and Security focusing on the SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
