(2) Sightsavers Ireland:  Sightsavers Ireland Film Festival: A Vision for Action - 13 October

Sightsavers Ireland invites you to an evening of powerful storytelling, advocacy, and awareness as we host a special Film Festival to mark World Sight Day 2025. Through a compelling selection of short films and documentaries, we will explore the global impact of avoidable blindness and the importance of inclusive eye health. Through the lens of filmmakers, activists, and those with lived experience, the festival invites audiences to see the world differently, and be inspired to take action for a future where no one is left behind. (3) Full Circle Change: Songs for a Better World – An Introduction to Doughnut Economics - 14 October

Doughnut Economics is a framework which proposes something revolutionary – meeting human needs without destroying the planet . Fundamentally, doughnut economics is about a shift in values and mindset, and is based on values such as care, cooperation, equity, diversity, reciprocity, and joined-up thinking. If you are interested in creativity and change-making, come to this fun and participative workshop facilitated by Full Circle Change, to explore these ideas through song and discussion. Singing is an excellent way to involve body, heart and mind in exploring ideas around systemic change for eco-social justice. Find out more here.

(4) Poverty in Northern Ireland: From the Local to the Global - 16 October

The Centre for Global Education has commissioned a research report titled Poverty in Northern Ireland: From the Local to the Global that comprises a systematic literature review from 2020-2024 of poverty reports in Northern Ireland that discern the main drivers of poverty and persistent trends. The research was compiled by the School of Social Sciences, Education & Social Work at Queen's University Belfast and funded by the Halifax Foundation Empower Programme. (6) International Programme Officer - 15 October

The International Programme Officer is responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of international programmes, with a specific emphasis on long-term initiatives in key countries. This position is central to the Irish Red Cross's goal of strengthening resilience and national society development. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in humanitarian principles, proven stakeholder engagement skills, and the capacity to travel and operate effectively in complex environments. (7) Brighter Communities: Fundraiser - 31 October

Brighter Communities Worldwide is seeking an experienced, dynamic and values-driven Fundraiser to lead and grow our fundraising function. This role is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive plan to achieve our annual fundraising income target through a variety of streams. The ideal candidate is not only a skilled fundraiser, but also a compelling storyteller, a strong team leader, and a relationship-builder who embodies empathy and participation in everything they do. (8) Irish Refugee Council:  Children's Caseworkers - 3 October

The Children’s Caseworker will support children seeking international protection, who arrived to Ireland unaccompanied and are being cared for by the Child and Family Agency (Tusla), in the international protection process. The project will take a child- centred and trauma-informed approach. The project will inform children of their rights and obligations in a child-friendly manner, with a main purpose to assist in the process of applying for international protection with and on behalf of the child. (9) IDEA: Capacity Development Programme Manager - 13 October

The Irish Development Education Association (IDEA) is looking for a Capacity Development Programme Manager to join our team to lead IDEA’s capacity development programme, ensuring our members and the wider sector have access to high-quality training, workshops, and networking opportunities. This is a unique leadership opportunity to help shape the future of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) in Ireland and beyond. At IDEA, we work with over 100 members, from large NGOs like Trócaire and Concern to smaller organisations and individual educators, all committed to building a more just, equal, and sustainable world. The Capacity Development Programme Manager role is central to this mission. Interviewees will be invited to interview on October 15th. (10) Christian Aid Ireland: Church and Community Officer (Munster) - 19 October

This role is part of the Church and Community team (a sub-division of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Team) and plays a vital role in stewarding, inspiring and engaging churches, Christian Aid groups and key individuals in order to increase engagement through giving, fundraising, acting and praying – and as a result growing support for Christian Aid Ireland’s work around the world. Courses and Training

(1) ECO-UNESCO: The Youth Climate Justice Programme 2025 is open for applications

The Youth Climate Justice Programme 2025 is a free after-school initiative for young people aged 14–18 who want to learn about and take action for climate justice. Over 12 weeks, participants engage in weekly workshops, monthly events, individual climate action projects, group campaigns, and the annual ECO-UNESCO Earth Gala. Each cohort of the programme brings together a nationwide group of creative, action-oriented young people passionate about climate justice. Past participants have developed skills and created impactful projects such as short films, banners, digital comics, and public art. Find out more here.

(2) VSI: Join VSI’s Youth Climate Justice Project 2025

Are you aged 18–25 and living in Ireland? Take part in an exciting project focused on climate justice. Learn, connect, and take action through in-person workshops (8 & 22 Nov, Dublin) and online sessions (10–12 & 17 Nov, 18:30–20:30). Gain valuable skills in advocacy, communication, and campaigning while working on a mini social media campaign. Find out more here.

(1) Irish Rule of Law International: El Salvador’s policy of mass incarceration

On the latest episode of Irish Rule of Law International’s podcast, award-winning journalist and new IRLI Communications Lead Evelyn McClafferty explores mass incarceration in El Salvador and the erosion of the rule of law, including the influence of Trump’s policies in the US. Joining her is Juanita Goebertus Estrada, Americas Director at Human Rights Watch, Colombian lawyer, human rights advocate and former member of the Colombian Congress (2018–2022). She played a key role in Colombia’s peace process and now leads Human Rights Watch’s Americas work on democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Listen here

We are currently looking for a co-tenant to share our office space in Dublin 1. The proposed arrangement is that the co-tenant would have full use of the office space for 2 days a week, with related costs to be shared on a pro-rata basis. Facilities include 25 workstations, 3 meeting rooms and 1 pod, small kitchen, secure bike parking, secure access.
