(1) Saolta: Making spACE for Justice - 7 November
Join us for Making spACE for Justice, an in-person national gathering of educators, activists, and community leaders. This engaging event will explore how learning communities can foster transformative action and build a more just and equitable world. We'll have opportunities to dive into topics such as racism, legal perspectives on the current global challenges, and disinformation. (2) Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF): Gaza: Doctors Can’t Stop Genocide - 5 November

Launch of new Centre for Global Development at Maynooth University in Renehan Hall, Maynooth University Old Campus on Thursday 13th November from 2pm - 4pm. Featuring international guest speakers John Ging, CEO of the Famine Relief Fund and Former Director of Operations at OCHA and of UNRWA in the Gaza Strip, Reylynne Dela Paz, Advocacy and Campaigns Manager of CIVICUS and Jane-Ann McKenna, CEO of Dóchas as well as others involved in global development in Ireland, the seminar asks 'What's Next for Global Development? (4) Irish Global Health Network: IGHNxEU – Empowering Women for a Healthier Europe- 14 November
The Irish Global Health Network is excited to invite you to IGHNxEU: Empowering Women for a Healthier Europe, a TED-style event taking place on Friday, 14 November 2025 at the RDS, Dublin. (5) Irish Red Cross: International Humanitarian Law Conference "“From Commitments to Action: Protecting Humanity in Crisis” - 6 November
Irish Red Cross will host its annual International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Conference on 6th November from 9:30am-1pm. The conference will discuss current challenges to the protection of civilians, examining the gap between States’ commitments to IHL and the realities faced by those in armed conflict. It will feature speeches from Minister of State Neale Richmond, and Dana Abu Kosh, IHL Coordinator for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, followed by a panel discussion with expert practitioners. Upcoming Meetings, Seminars & Workshops
(1) IDEA: Improving Your Results Framework Workshop - 18 November
This workshop is part of the Irish Development Education Association (IDEA)’s support for the Irish Aid Global Citizenship Education Grants Round. This session will be led by Elaine Mahon, IDEA and Susan Gallwey, as an Individual member, IDEA. This session is focused on supporting those who are familiar with Results Frameworks and have begun work on the Results Framework for their application. This will take place on Tuesday, 18 November, 10.00am - 12.00pm, online. As in recent years, this year we also invite any other actors who are not yet members of IDEA to these training events. (2) PILA and the Pro Bono Pledge Ireland: Charity Law Compliance & Governance - 29 October
PILA and the Pro Bono Pledge Ireland are delighted to invite you to the pilot of the NGO Webinar Series, a new initiative designed to support the NGO community through practical legal insights.The series will comprise six online information sessions on key areas of law identified by NGOs as most relevant at this time between October 2025 and May 2026. The first session will cover Charity Law Compliance and Governance and partcipants will hear from legal practitioners from Arthur Cox LLP and Matheson LLP. Find out more and register here.
(3) United Edge: From Charity to Justice: Reimagining Aid - 3 November
Can we use the aid crisis as a chance for radical, transformative change that centers Justice-based alternatives over conventional charity models? Join United Edge for an inspiring Panel Discussion at 12pm showcasing alternatives models based on models of solidarity, decolonisation, economic justice, and mutual aid that go beyond the logic of extraction that most charity depends on. (1) IDEA: Design of an Interactive Data Visualisation Tool, Theory of Impact for Global Citizenship Education in Ireland - 29 October
The Irish Development Education Association (IDEA) is looking for a consultant to design an interactive data visualisation tool for our Theory of Impact for Global Citizenship Education in Ireland. The consultant will lead the design or tailoring of off-the-shelf survey software and analytics software to our needs in collaboration with IDEA staff. Courses and Training
(1) Eurocheck Security: Hostile Environment Course - 5-7 November
Our hostile environment courses are suitable for individuals who are currently working in or are going to work in medium to high-risk areas. They will help to ensure that you keep yourself and those you are working with safer. In addition to the normal security subjects covered in the security awareness courses, this course includes sessions on kidnap, landmines, trauma, sexual assault. The course also includes pre-course reading, exercises and role plays. Our main courses are conducted in Kildare but we can also run short bespoke courses at your own location. We also conduct online hostile environment and security awareness courses. All courses are suitable for NGOs, Charities, journalists, students, human rights workers and volunteers. (2) Alice PR: Alice Academy for Activists - 12 November
Alice Academy for Activists, a free residential bootcamp that equips activists with strategic campaigning skills is now open for applications. If you know someone with an idea that might just change the world – or who’s working on a campaign to improve people’s lives – please encourage them to apply. Successful applicants will be notified in early December and, over the course of four days in January, they'll be immersed in topics such as strategy and planning; community organising and coalition-building; fundraising; political engagement; and media relations. (3) IDEA: Grants Clinic for Irish Aid Global Citizenship Education Funding Applications - 13 November
The Irish Development Education Association (IDEA)’s first training event supporting the Irish Aid Global Citizenship Education Grants Round is a Grants Clinic, focusing on the application form. It will be facilitated by Bobby McCormack, CEO of Development Perspectives and Chairperson of the IDEA National Council, along with Elaine Mahon, IDEA. This will take place on Thursday, 13 November, 09.30am – 11.30am, online. As in recent years, we are also inviting any other actors who are not yet members of IDEA to these training events. To make this training as useful as possible for all attending, please make sure that you have a copy of any previous application form you have worked on relating to the Irish Aid GCE grants available to you during the session. (4) VSI: Youth Climate Justice Project 2025 - 4 November
Are you aged 18-25 years old and living in Ireland? Take part in an exciting project focused on climate justice from 8th – 22nd November. Learn, connect, and take action through a mix of in-person and online workshops. Gain valuable skills in advocacy, communication, and campaigning while working on a mini social media campaign. (1) Self Help Africa: Shared Office Space Available
We are currently looking for a co-tenant to share our office space in Dublin 1. The proposed arrangement is that the co-tenant would have full use of the office space for 2 days a week, with related costs to be shared on a pro-rata basis. Facilities include 25 workstations, 3 meeting rooms and 1 pod, small kitchen, secure bike parking, secure access.
