Dóchas Conference 2022. Locally Led Development: Exploring the Next Steps

Watch back our 2022 Conference on Locally Led development, where we heard from Chernor Bah and deep dived into topic with Smruti Patel. Here you can also find a range of videos from our members who speak about their current work on locally led development.

Conference 2022

Dóchas' 2022 Annual Conference explored different perspectives on progressing locally-led development, a key priority in our strategy (2022-2026). The Conference aimed to build on the knowledge and progress made over the past year, to identify key areas of work for Dóchas members to collaborate on together.

Keynote Speaker

Chernor Bah, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Purposeful spoke to current challenges, as well as giving an insight into forward looking donor and partner practices that have worked well to progress locally led development.

Participant Dialogue on Locally Led Development

Smruti Patel, Founder and Co-Founder of Global Mentoring Initiative used the 'Seven Dimensions Framework'  to expertly facilitate interactive discussions amongst Dóchas members on locally led development.

In the first breakout conversation, members discussed 'What needs to change?', 'What obstacles can we anticipate and how will we overcome them?' as well as 'What would success look like?' for each of the seven dimensions. In the second breakout conversation members reflected on what actions need to be taken collectively, and identified priority areas on locally led development for the network to engage in going forward.

Check out the work from both breakout sessions for each of the seven dimensions:
